GERMAN WWII TROPICAL FOUR POCKET COMBAT TUNIC.
An absolutely mint unissued example of the later pattern tropical tunic, seen worn very late in the period of the North Africa campaign but mainly seen worn in Italy and the Balkans. Standard olive drab finish, large size, normal configuration of four patch pockets, five button configuration, with its correct Bevo woven machine applied collar patches and its 2nd pattern blue on tan breast eagle with all original stitching. No shoulder boards fitted, this has obviously come straight from stores, loops are fitted for the shoulder boards. Profuse issue markings to the inner right hand flap of the tunic starting with an RB number, followed by the series of size stamps. Still with its factory issue paper label, manufactured by Lago 4 Schneider, with another name applied Anton Weber stamped to the paper label. As previously stated this is an unissued tunic and needs the addition of shoulder boards and is priced accordingly. Followers of our web site for many years would have noticed our annotations on certain items of German clothing, within the manufacturing processes small parts of uniform tunics and trousers have been constructed with cut off edges from the cloth laying on the floor of the factories and that is the case with this example. The two upper pockets are of a slightly different shade of olive drab than the remainder of the garment.
