GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE GENERAL GORING REGT CAP
A very nice condition size 55 Luftwaffe Regiment General Goring enlisted man/ncos visor cap. The upper body is excellent with good nap to the cloth, one minor repaired moth hole. These caps are always of the same type and form having a mixture of the saddle shape and tellerform. Standard mohair centre band, double buckle front strap, the most commonly encountered double strengthened edge to the front visor. A matched set of stamped aluminium Luftwaffe eagle and cockade fitted. To the interior the leather sweatband is all complete but is torn in two places. These caps also are very profusely unit and maker stamped. Beneath the complete centre celluloid lozenge is the G.A.Hoffmann, Berlin S.W.29 makers stamp and address in silver block. Size stamped in ink 55 with year mark 1936 also the original owners semi canvas name label. To the inside of the sweatband again these are always heavily unit marked, this one very unusual being marked to the Wach Btl./ORG.Gneral Goring (Guard Battalion Regiment General Goring). Also the added words of Reiter-Zug. We have never come across a Wach Battalion example before, they are generally normally marked with battalion numbers followed by General Goring. An excellent well marked Regiment General Goring visor cap.
