GERMAN WWII MOUNTAIN TROOP OFFICERS UNIFORM, IDENTIFIED.
The 4 pocket officers tunic, officers bergmutze and soldbuch belonging to Obergefreiter then Leutnant Johann Nowak, the tunic being the standard M.36 officers tunic in enlisted ranks quality, standard 4 pocket construction all with pleats and flaps, dark green collar that has some slight moth damage to the nap, fitted with a set of slip-on mountain green underlay Leutnants shoulder boards with silvered regimental 98 numerals attached, the silver lace to the boards in subdued wartime grey. The collar patches are of standard bullion type with mountain green centre. Officer bullion wire woven breast eagle hand stitched to the tunic. One East Front medal ribbon. Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon to the second buttonhole. The tunic is fitted with his original Infantry Assault Badge in silver and DRL sports badge in bronze. To the right hand sleeve the enlisted ranks Bevo woven edelweiss sleeve badge. The bergmutze again in enlisted mans quality, nap thin to the cloth, silver officers cording to crown, an officers Bevo woven T shaped eagle and cockade. To the interior the leather sweatband in the forehead area, wear use to the rayon lining, clearly stamped size 57 with a maker’s mark from Heidelberg, all metal edelweiss badge attached to the left hand side of the cap as the cap is worn.
