GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN FELT PICKELHAUBE.

A very nice large size all felt bodied pickelhaube. The felt helmets are very susceptible to damage and this has got an excellent skull, there is one slight tear at the join of the rear peak to the main body otherwise excellent overall. The front peak trim never fitted to this excellent. Brass non removable spike and circular spike base. Standard Prussian plate all complete with its chinstrap, national and State cockades. To the interior the leather liner is virtually complete, the tip of two tongues are missing. There is a size label ‘58’ and regimental mark which unfortunately is indistinct but with a ‘1916’ clear date to the inner rear peak in indelible ink. A very nice example.
