GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE/POLICE OVERSEAS CAP.

A highly interesting overseas cap, large size possibly 58, constructed in the coastal artillery green. Rayon lined with good clear naval marking ‘B.A.K.’ (clothing depot Kiel) date ‘7.9.42’ , fitted with a very unusual police insignia, one piece Yellow Bevo woven eagle on a distinctive marine artillery green backing material, we have carried out extensive research and cannot find any theoretical link to the Kriegsmarine in terms of a sub police unit except The Marine Coastal Police who generally wore Blue uniforms but as we have realised over many years of collecting and dealing there is always something new being discovered and this could be part of a MKP unit uniformed as per the marine artillery however the BAK markings are clear, the insignia is highly unusual and it was originally machine stitched to the cap.
