GERMAN WWII SS CAVALRY SCHOOL GRAVY BOAT.
A scarce piece of china from the SS Cavalry School in Munich, a gravy boat maker marked and having the large twin SS runic symbol in white on a black circle within the glaze on both sides of the gravy boat. Accompanying this boat are copies of the two 1943 dated letters and one 1946 dated letter, the two 1943 dated letters are from Carl Wirthmuller who was the head of the canteen in the SS Cavalry School, there is an accompanying 1946 dated letter from a lawyer in Munich in German but with an English over-stamped reading by a barrister authorised by the Military Government to work in the law profession, the letter relates to the sale of the building which originally was the SS Cavalry School, it was from these sources that the china was obtained. Maker marked to the base ‘Bauscher Weiden’. Regimentals do have the originals of this paperwork and will be sending them with the last piece of china available, which is a large dinner platter.
