GERMAN WWI ERSATZ CORK TROPICAL HELMET.
The extremely difficult to find tropical pickelhaube constructed identically as to a cork sun helmet, covered in four panels of canvas. All of the fittings are in the patinated field grey, all with brass fittings, which have dulled considerably over the past 100+ years. To the right hand side of the helmet some of the canvas covering is stained and discoloured. To the right hand where the rear peak joins the main body there is a split in the cork. The helmet is untouched with its original state and Prussian cockades with its canvas chinstrap and brass rectangular buckles. To the interior the 9 tongued liner is all intact but delicate and frail. A very scarce pickelhaube.
