GERMAN WWII GRAF ZEPPELIN PORCELAIN.

A most superb set of three items of porcelain from the famous airship the LZ127 the Graf Zeppelin. These three excellent items all produced by Heinrich & Company of Bavaria with their logo on the base of each item. Also with the logo in light brown ‘Graf Zeppelin 1928’. The three items comprise of the teacup, saucer and tea plate, they are gilt edged with the most beautiful gilt and blue decoration to each piece with both the tea plate and cup having the further designation of ‘LZ’ within an oval. All three items are in the most perfect undamaged condition. The first flight of the Graf Zeppelin was on the 18th September 1928, it was fitted out for transatlantic flight in the most exquisite fashion, its operational career spanned almost 9 years having its last flight in June 1937, all flights were without incident but unfortunately was withdrawn from service after the crash and destruction of the LZ129 Hindenburg at Lakehurst in May 1937, it was withdrawn from service and scrapped in 1940, fortunately much of the china survived, this is an exquisite item for the collectors of historic aviation related porcelain.
