GERMAN WWII CAMOUFLAGE PARATROOPER HELMET.
A good battlefield souvenir camouflage paratrooper helmet. The exterior shell is in a mid tan/brown, probably from southern Italian front, some slight losses through the helmet being damaged to the crown area as can be seen by our web images. The rubber cushion between the liner and the zinc liner band has solidified. Heavy brush stroked camouflage applied at unit level. The interior lining has suffered from what would appear to be rodent damage, also the closing strap of the straps themselves is missing, probably from being cut from a dead body. The lining still retains good colour and is clearly marked for head size 57 with 68 shell with the Berlin maker’s mark. The internal damage from rodents can be seen in our web images. A superb helmet.
