GERMAN WWII M.35 SINGLE DECAL ARMY HELMET, HUGE SIZE.

A hard to find SE68 size shell, batch number ‘2923’ M.35 single decal army helmet. Originally produced as a double decal, it would appear from the paint finish that it has been returned to an ordnance depot to have the national tricolour covered as per the 1940 regulations and then reissued. The skull retains much of its original apple green finish with evidence of another apple green finish over the original, a clear outline of where the national tricolour was evident. The armed forces decal has toned to a deep gold and could be mistaken for a navy but in our opinion it is definitely a toned silver army. Good clear decal with one chip to the lower right hand side as per our web images. The 8 tongued liner is complete with its original drawstring. Evidence of a good amount of service wear, with its aluminium banded liner, of which the liner band has itself been ordnance repaired. Original early brown chinstrap.
