GERMAN WWII AFRIKA KORPS M.41 TROPICAL FIELD CAP.
A very rare and nice condition lightly service worn M.41 field cap for an Afrika Korps man in a transport unit. The main rare thing about this cap is that it is ‘1940’ dated, which is the year before any troops ever arrived in North Africa, this cap is focused in the work Afrika Korps by Daniel Fisher. Standard red lining marked ‘Carl Halfar, Berlin’ size ‘56’ with good clear date of ‘1940’. It is with its original leather sweatband, the original owner’s name of ‘Pallas’ hand inscribed to the interior. Fitted with the cross hatch stitched Bevo woven blue on tan national eagle, the cross hatching to both pieces of the insignia is the trademark stitching for the maker Halfar, identical stitching on the national tricolour. Blue waffenfarbe for transport units. One stain to the crown other areas of minor discoloration, wear obvious, excellent shape.
