Black felt with grey cotton machine woven Latvian 3 star emblem to the centre. Removed from a tunic with stitches still in place. Traces of glue on the reverse side that it was once taken off a display board. Dachau type stitching, but with unusual red central paper backing. The 19th Waffen Grenadier Division were formed in January 1944 and were engaged in the heavy fighting on the northern front around Leningrad and later in Kurland.
