A superb new work by the renowned military author and historian Hugh Page Taylor, Hugh has been writing books on the Third Reich and its satellites and associated countries since his first work on the Waffen SS in 1969. All of his projects since then have been in association with the Roger James Bender organisation in the United States, his last major work being his double volume Uniforms, Organisation, History of the German Police which was completed in 2009, he has written many magazine articles in both English, Estonian, Hungarian and Italian. This new work, a very thick and heavy book with 536 pages measuring 22 x 29cm and weighing 2.25kg concentrates on the history of the Guard unit of Vidkun Quisling, the Guard was known as the Forergarden. In many meetings with Hugh it is obvious that his first love was the history of the Norwegian Fascist Movement. He lived in Norway in the 1960’s and this is where the interest began. The work is full of period imagery, history of Vidkun Quisling and the Norwegian National Socialist Movement, the history of members of the bodyguard and their subsequent involvement with the Third Reich in both civil and military matters.
