GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE ESCAPE/SURVIVAL LAMP.

Another piece of the rare survival equipment being the 23.5cm long grey painted battery operated lamp. Complete with its original bulb with all the original stencilled instructions to the exterior, both to the handle and to the head, impressed into the metallic front edge of the lens ‘Mod.R.M.2 Elettrolampada Heinritzr Per Salvagente’. It would appear that the lamps were produced in Italy for the German forces, the Italians having long history of salvage and diving equipment. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
