GERMAN WWII MP40 POUCH.

Early model of the MP40 pouch, standard three compartment, olive drab canvas weave with all brown leather fittings. Complete with its loading tool pouch. To the reverse side the two belt loops are in a light canvas, the canvas loop with galvanised D ring attached for attaching to the Y straps, also in the matching white herringbone canvas as the reverse belt loops. There is an early MP38 an identical example shown on page 53 of Ausrustung volume 1. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
