GERMAN WWI SAXON GUARD REITER MANS CUIRASSIER HELMET.

An extremely rare helmet being the all steel skull style Saxon Guard Reiter mans helmet, the skull has not been damaged in any way, it has cleaned rust. The large Saxon front plate in field grey with all of the edge trim with the remains of the field grey finish. All of the domed rivets to the lobster tail are in place. The helmet is with its original leather chinstrap and its correct Cuirassier style spike. The skull also has the raised ridge at the back of the skull identifying it as a Guard Reiter. The skull is also marked to the edge trim on the inside of the helmet 'GR.2' followed by further Latin numerals, which are unidentifiable. The helmet is with its original leather liner, which still retains some good light tan colour, with its correct drawstring. The green paint finish to the interior of the front peak is good with some slight loss to the black paint on the inner rear lobster tail. The helmet is also complete with both of its large size enlisted mans national and Saxon cockades.
