GERMAN WWII PUNISHMENT BATTALION CITATIONS.

Two citations to a Punishment Battalion, late war of the 11th Panzer Division. Iron Cross 2nd class, standard pre printed citation, folded once, punch holed for filing to Feldwebel Alfred Bromme of the 13./Eins./Btl.Dahlhaus, dated 6.2.1945 pencil signature of Unit Commander Oberst Dande with the issue stamp of the 11th Panzer Division. Field printed citation for the Panzer Assault Badge in bronze, dated 1st May 1945 for Punishment Battalion 119, it is signed by an unidentified Major as a Disziplinarstrafgewalt Eines AGT.KDRS (Disciplinary Officer an Regiment Commander). In early 1945 the 11th Panzer Division was fighting against American units on the Saar Front before being moved to the defence of the Remagan Bridge in March, subsequently it was moved east to Hesse and Thuringia where it finished the war. A highly unusual pair.
