INDIAN PARA/CHINDIT COMBAT KNIFE.
A highly interesting combat knife measuring 27cm in length out of its scabbard having the blade of an Indian paratrooper knife with variations shown on page 205 of British & commonwealth Military Knives by Ron Flook. The tip has been slightly reprofiled into a Bowie point. The hilt is identical to the Chindit or Para knives, oval in steel. The grip is virtually identical to the example also shown on plate 493 on page 205. Complete with its undamaged wood grip but with a set of initials hand applied to the grip, in a custom made aluminium mounted scabbard with rear belt loop, a nice twisted leather closure strap with the plate at the bottom having what appears to be a Cross of St.George and a faint outline of a fighting knife to the upper left hand quarter of the shield. The initials either AI or AH applied to the upper aluminium sheet. A highly unusual knife.
