GERMAN THIRD REICH CROATION SS DIVISION INSIGNIA.

An extremely rare piece of insignia being the Waffen SS volunteer arm shield for Division Handschar. We have only ever encountered this arm shield in Bevo weave and printed form. This example is beautifully machine embroidered. The white squares have been woven onto a section of silk-like shield shaped backing cloth with black edging. Very slight staining to the edges. It has been folded and possibly removed from the tunic.
