BRITISH WWI AMERICAN MADE 14 PATTERN BACK PACK.

A very interesting example of the scarce 14 pattern large pack. This example is an American made version and has typical American mechanical riveting throughout. What makes it interesting is the fact that it is effectively unused however very dusty from storage. The webbing elements are of a very attractive dark olive tan colour, there is a broad arrow acceptance stamp to the interior. Also visible upon the flap are the original markings for the factory where the rivets were to be placed and these do give indication of left and right in a symbolic form. The buckles are all present and are the 14 pattern type with the 14 specific small and large pack closure buckles to the front. The leather strapping has suffered a little from dryness and one or two of the straps have snapped, however with gentle care these could be preserved and maybe with some light restoration this could in fact be perfectly presentable. A very interesting example of equipment.
