GERMAN THIRD REICH KPM AROUND GERMANY FLIGHT TABLE.

A superb KPM manufactured porcelain table top measuring 20 inches/50cm by 24 inches/60cm being a complete map of Germany constructed from four large tiles, pieced together to form the map. These four beautiful KPM tiles in the most wonderful deep rich colours traces the route of the Around Germany Air Race from 1934, this being the winner's prize. It is KPM marked to the lower right hand corner. The lettering which reads 'Ehrenpreis Deutschlandflug 1934' has faded somewhat. The beautiful multi coloured maroon, silver and black DLV insignia is still good and clear as is the rest of the map. This has been mounted in a period art deco style table top with a lower panel beneath and forms the most beautiful central table. With the table comes a card folded citation awarded by the Oberburgermeister of Landkreises Neisse, with the coat of arms of the area on the front cover, plus a small DLV beautifully enamelled, maker marked on the reverse side lapel pin. Although there is no direct paperwork linking this prize to the winner, verbal provenance states that the owner of the honour prize was a Wolff Von Wedelstadt.
