PORTUGUESE OFFICERS AUTOMATIC PISTOL HOLSTER.

An extremely scarce item of equipment being a Portuguese produced holster to fit to the British supplied 08 webbing. To the reverse the holster is the typical large C clips that were used with Sam Browne equipment. The item is in excellent supple condition with a little flaking to the leather. This would greatly benefit from a coat of clear wax polish. The twin pouches for the magazines are good, however the press studs to the interior have pulled throughout, this is not noticeable in the closed position. Period pictures during WWI of Portuguese troops using these automatic holsters have been observed. The actual auto pistol used by Portugese officers has not been identified Any item of WWI Portuguese militaria must be considered extremely rare.
