BRITISH PERIOD FRAMED MACHINE GUN CORPS PHOTO.
An excellent photo of a Lewis gunner operating the Lewis gun in the anti aircraft improvised configuration, this was where a wagon wheel was applied to an axled upright post and the gun was lashed to it thus the item was highly manoeuvrable against aircraft. The gunner wears a Brodie helmet with MGC collar badges with binoculars around his neck, to the rear one can see the large wooden crate of loose ammunition which has been opened for ease of reloading. All housed in an excellent period looking modern frame and mount.
