WWI GERMAN AVIATION PHOTOGRAPHS.

A very fine group of 21 images all of large size, between 5 3/4 and 4, with only at 5 inches x 3 inches. It is difficult to ascertain whether these are press photographs or privately taken in large shots. One has hand annotation on the reverse side, the others all have typed annotations plus a series of numbers which may possibly be inventory numbers, however the content of these photographs are superb from a technical aspect. The hand annotated image shows a beautifully camouflaged German machine crashed, Marine bi-planes on their airfield on the edge of the North Sea in preparation for flying, a superb close-up shot of a German machine with both of its crew in the cockpit with a clear view of the machine gun. One small image of what may be a French or British machine, crashed with its squadron insignia painted to the side. A large image of German mechanics working on a machine, refilling oil and servicing. Pigeon carriers being loaded aboard a German machine with the observer receiving the pigeons next to his machine gun. A wonderful close-up of an observer wearing a feldmutze with a machine gun in the observer position. One small postcard sized image of what possibly could be a French machine with a the pilot and observer sitting on the wing and standing. Excellent close-up of Flieger Leutnant Immelmann standing in front of his Fokker monoplane. A See Flieger Abteilung machine being winched aboard its mother ship. A large group of pilots and mechanics from a Naval See Flieger unit standing in front of a naval flying machine, 16 persons in the image wearing a variety of uniforms and flying clothing. A postcard size image, an extremely good close-up of a rare aircraft machine gun with two German aviators in the machine. One large image of an aircraft camera being loaded aboard a machine. Another very rare image of an observer or pilot seated in his plane wearing a parachute harness. The remaining images all of excellent detail and quality of German WWI aviation. Condition:
