GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE DOUBLE DECAL PARATROOPER HELMET.
A very rare size ET68 shell Luftwaffe double decal paratrooper helmet. The exterior of the helmet with much of its original apple green finish remaining, especially around the lower edges of the helmet, the dome has rubbed through the paint. The front wing of the Luftwaffe decal is completely clear, the rear wing has faded, the swastika is clear but faded. The national tricolour with abrasions and with the top right hand corner of the tricolour decal missing. The three hole spanner bolts still retain their original apple green finish and have never been removed from the helmet. To the interior all of the maker marks and sizes have disappeared, the liner has shredded in the forehead area, the central stitched seam is still all intact as is the rest of the leather liner. The chinstraps are in firm but semi frail condition, there would appear to be a collectors stitched repair on one of the back straps to the main chinstrap, the long chinstrap has its female press stud but the male section, which is placed upon the slider has detached itself from the helmet and is missing. The interior rubber cradle is in the early light cream dating the helmet definitely to the pre war period, this has solidified, also the interior rubber crown cushion has solidified. A good example of an untouched Luftwaffe double decal combat helmet.
