GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN LEIBGENDARMERIE ENLISTED RANKS PICKELHAUBE.

We have recently purchased a small collection of six pieces of Imperial German headdress, the collector took great pains over many years to obtain the very best that he could and all six pieces are unbelievable examples. This superb condition Leibgendarmerie enlisted ranks is the best we have ever seen and fully conversant with this collectors standards. The exterior skull is magnificent, just minor congealing to both front and back peaks, which are securely attached to the body. All of the brass fittings still have some original lacquer to them. The Guard style plate in gilded metal with the white nickel overlay star of the Guard. Correct large size domed chin scales with its correct large size national and State cockades. This is the earlier pattern helmet. To the interior body is marked ‘LG 1890’. The 9 tongued liner is all intact. The interior also retains much original mid tan colour. The helmet is with its rare early style field cover, which is matching marked to the helmet ‘LG’ but with a different date of ‘1892’ with Roman numeral size II. The interior of the cover spike is lined in leather. The cover also of the enlisted rank style with clip-over fixings.
