A fabulous condition 41cm straight bladed dirk with central fuller, one fighting edge with the back edge being half the fighting edge, both sides with half of the blade with blue and gilt decoration, one side absolutely fantastic with all gilt remaining to the central blued panel of stands of arms and floriated work, the opposite side slightly faint but still good and clear, good deep gilt to the floriated work with the Georgian crown and the intertwined ‘GVR’ indicating King George. The classic Georgian 5 ball returning hilt with the reed style ivory grip, which is undamaged, slightly discoloured. The upper pommel cap in rectangular form with rounded edges. The blade is still with its original leather in the area between the upper blade and the cross guard. Original full length straight scabbard, leather is good, slight abrasions and crazing with all three original gilded mounts, the lower mount is lacking its securing rivet.
