IMPERIAL GERMAN SAXON RESERVE REGIMENT 100 OFFICERS PICKELHAUBE AND COVER.

A rare pickelhaube being the all leather skull helmet of Saxon Reserve Regiment 100. All of the fittings for this regiment are all in white metal, the skull has slight congealing overall, the front and back peak are securely attached to the main body. All white metal fittings with the exception of the Saxon overlay plate onto the white metal star. The gilded metal Saxon plate with its Reserve officers star laid onto the white metal 8 pointed Saxon star. Tall spike, flat white metal chin scales, complete with its original officers liner. All the light tan leather is excellent with its inner silk lining, unusually the circular spike base to the inside with a disc marked ‘DRGM Germania’. A rare original officers field cover with number ‘100’ red letters to the exterior and a red manoeuvre band to the interior, also stamped to the inner peak of the cover itself ‘DRP’ (Deutsches Reich Patent). Some minor staining and spotting to the cover but without any tears or moth damage. A rare combination.
