GERMAN WWI M.16 CAMOUFLAGE TRENCH HELMET.

We have recently purchased a small collection of six pieces of Imperial German headdress, the collector took great pains over many years to obtain the very best that he could and all six pieces are unbelievable examples. A most superb M.16 camouflage trench helmet, which meets the exact standards of the collector that we purchased these helmets from. Standard M.16 skull, painted in small squares of the three colour camouflage of mid green, plum and ochre with narrow separation lines. All original rivets untouched. The interior skull is painted to the upper inner dome ’12.K 194’ indicating 12th Company, helmet or soldier issue number 194, also numbered in red ink to the rear skirt number ‘164’ whether this is a mistake or a different number we shall never know. The interior standard M.16 leather band complete with its untouched mid brown three pad liner system. All of the tongues complete with a frail but still complete drawstring. All of the three inner pads have their inner horsehair linings.
