GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE CAPTAINS WHITE TOP VISOR CAP.

One of the most desired caps of the Third Reich being the white top naval officers cap. This was worn by Captains and above having the single row of oak leaves around the cloth covered peak. The cap has seen overall service wear, the white top is slightly discoloured, complete with its gilded metallic eagle and bullion wire wreath, standard mohair band, correct naval type strap with two anchor side buttons. The row of oak leaves around the front of the cap matches in condition to the Kriegsmarine wreath. To the interior the mid tan leather sweatband is all intact, it has one small tear and two small weevil holes. The interior upper lining has lost its centre celluloid lozenge and wear use from hair grease and/or sweat can be seen clearly in the area of the crown. The cap has a lovely jaunty naval shape. The white top cap was worn in all scenarios by naval officers but was much favoured by submariners, which can be seen in hundreds of historical photographs.
