GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN FIELD GREY PICKELHAUBE.

A very nice example of an all lether pickelhaube with field grey fittings. All of the fittings match in colour and patination. The skull is absolutely perfect. Minor crazing and minor distortion to the rear peak. Both the front and back peaks securely attached to the main body. Good bright finish to the skull. The helmet is with its completely original chinstrap, national and state cockades. The interior 9 tongued liner in mid tan all intact with its original leather drawstring. Faint traces of an army group mark, which appears to be ‘B.A.X.II’ to the area between the two front plate securing eyelets. A circular maker’s mark to the rear of the peak. The inside of the crown retains much original light tan finish. A very good example of an ersatz pickelhaube.
