Good leather skull, some light flaking of the skin from the exterior of the skull but no damage. Slight congealing to the front and back peaks with minor distortion in shape to the rear peak. The leather is solid. All brass fittings, which match. No damage to the front plate, with its black leather chinstrap with brass fittings and its correct national and Prussian State cockades. Front peak trim with slight kinks to the interior with faint traces of a maker’s stamping to the interior front trim. Slight indentations to the point of the helmet’s spike. To the interior the 9 tongued leather liner in black all in good supple undamaged condition with a brown leather drawstring present. A full compliment of both army group and regimental numbers are stamping into the rear peaks, the regimental stamping appears to be Prussian Infantry Regiment 50, which would correspond with the army corps number clearly stamped ‘B.A.XV’ Army Korps 5.
