An extremely nice condition large sized saddle shaped Waffen SS officers visor cap, possibly size 58. It is always noticeable how so many of the Waffen SS items of headdress are nearly always of a lighter shade of grey than the army field grey green. This example is constructed in the finest quality Melton material, two minor moth nips to the nap only of the cloth to the crown otherwise no other moth damage in any area. White waffenfarbe surrounding the full crown also the full circumference of both the upper and lower black velvet centre band. Wire woven cap cords. Matching set of SS eagle and skull that has lost its Silver wash. Silvered side buttons. To the interior there is evidence of minor wear use, the mid tan leather sweatband all intact, undamaged with staining to the forehead area. The orange cushion that sits in the area of the sweatband on the forehead has not solidified and is still supple. The interior lining all in grey.
