GERMAN WWI M.18 EAR CUT OUT HELMET.
A very nice condition untouched WWI example of the M.18 cut out. The exterior retains the majority of its original paintwork with some losses in the crown area and rust bleed overall to the skull, with its original M.18 liner, which has seen considerable wear use but is intact with all four tongues, two of the tongues have split causing it to come adrift from the central drawstring, with its rare original carbine clip strap. White possibly museum inventory numbers hand applied into the rear skirt. The M.18 cut out helmets were all marked ‘EF 64’ the stampings on this example are so faint that the camera is unable to pick them out. There are however other stampings, which are unrecognisable to us, a large letter ‘T’ with a ‘1’ and ‘211’ below.
