GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN GUARD PICKELHAUBE.
A good condition size 54 enlisted mans leather pickelhaube with all field grey fittings of a Guard unit. The main skull in excellent condition, crazed overall, one small area of the skin flaking from the main body. All of the field grey fittings, which include the back strap, removable spike, circular spike base, front plate and front peak trim all match in colour with minor rusting to the front peak trim and to the right hand wing of the large Guard plate. Slight battle damage where a piece of shrapnel has hit the very tip of the spike. All fitted with its original leather chinstrap with its correct chemically grey fitted buckles, its standard national and Prussian State cockades. To the interior the 9 tongued liner all intact with part of its original drawstring remaining. Clearly marked size ‘54’ with date of ‘1915’. To the interior rear peak it is marked ‘K.B.A.G.’ (Clothing Depot Guard 1915).
