GERMAN WWI GUARD DU CORPS ENLISTED MANS HELMET WITH PARADE EAGLE.
A fabulous condition pre 1900 skull in the most superb condition with its characteristic raised seam commonly encountered on the Guard Cuirassier and Guard du Corps helmets to the rear of the body. No damage to any part of the skull, all the white metal trim in perfect condition, the lobster tail is firmly attached to the main bowl, the front peak of the earlier stepped style. Maker marked to the inner front peak trim. Marked with the number ‘2’ below the large single Prussian black and white cockade, this may denote 2nd Squadron. Standard Guard du Corps enlisted mans front plate with black Eagle Order, which retains all of its black painted finish. Large size set of enlisted mans domed chin scales. One large Prussian State cockade, at the period of this helmet only one cockade would have been worn. The interior leather liner all complete, slight wear but undamaged. Black paint worn at the inner side of the lobster tail and the green painted finish worn on the inside of the front stepped peak. A most excellent example.
