GERMAN WWII PARATROOPER FRONT LACE BOOTS & PHOTO ALBUM.

A superb condition pair of the brown front lace paratrooper boots, complete with their soles. The hollowed out section to the back of the heel thought to be for the attachment of ski bindings or often utilised for the wearing of the non slip slip rubber over shoes. Standard 12 eye configuration for the long lace-ups. Excellent remaining colour. Good thick soles. When the collector first bought these boots they were accompanied by two photograph albums, the first of large format, on the opening interior cover a picture of a Luftwaffe paratrooper wearing his paratrooper badge, two interior photographs of the same paratrooper wearing the green step-in smock and wearing what we assume to be these boots, the detail through a magnifying glass are identical to these boots. Some other minor paratrooper interest photographs. The album then goes into both family, wartime and post war. The second small album relating to the war years of 1941 in Holland, mainly occupation, scenes of damaged buildings and village and some home leave shots. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
