GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE BLUE WEBBING WAIST BELT AND BUCKLE.

A very nice example of a 95cm length tropical blue waist belt for a Luftwaffe soldier. Standard brown leather adjuster tab to the interior with a highly unusual construction of attachment clip to the opposite end. A leather tab has been sewn to the tropical belt, part of the leather is missing, the clip itself is RZM marked, whether this is a conversion done by the soldier himself or was in production cannot be known. The buckle with all its original blue finish remaining with slight chipping evident, with its leather tab which is maker marked and dated ‘1941’. Shown in Ausrustung volume 1 page 20. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
