A magnificent example, we have had a fair amount of the Allgemeine caps in the last three years, this is undoubtedly the best. The cap is constructed in the standard ribbed tricot material, the white waffenfarbe standing out proudly against the black material. A matching set of SS eagle and skull. Standard black patent strap, on many occasions the interior of the patent chinstraps are stamped to the interior, this particular example is tightly formed against the cap and we do not wish to risk damage by easing the strap back to view the reverse side. No moth damage or staining. Large size of 58. Russet brown leather sweatband in immaculate condition, matching the waterproof interior crown material and the cotton side material. The centre celluloid lozenge all complete with its SS runic symbol below the lozenge with a clear gilded stamped size of ‘58’. RZM ticket complete to the interior underneath the sweatband. The sweatband is also stamped size ‘58’ plus the marking ‘HB 1938’. The orange foam cushion beneath the visor in the forehead area is present, slightly liquidised but is in place.
