GERMAN WWII ALLGEMEINE SS UNTERFUHRER’S AUSWEIS.

The rare double sided single card measuring 12cm x 9 cm for SS Unterscharfuhrer Arno Mehl. SS number 424544, he served with SS Sturm 3/RES.27.SS-Standarte. An image of Mehl wearing a form of uniform with insignia that cannot be recognised, hatless with the over-stamp of ‘SS Abschnitt XII’. On the reverse side there are more over-stamps, one of the Reichsfuhrer SS Heinrich Himmler next to his facsimile signature, another of the 27th SS Standarte. Dated 4th February 1944 with pen signature of the local SS Standartenfuhrer who issued the Ausweis. The card itself is overall printed with intertwined eagle and swastikas. A highly impressive NSDAP SS membership card.
