GERMAN WWI M.16 TRENCH HELMET.

A very good apple green trench helmet, at least 70% of the original green paint finish remaining. Maker stamped ‘ST66’, with its three pad liner, all of the original horsehair pads have been removed, all of the three sections are with their original horsehair pads and drawstring. Tied around the inner liner band protected by a modern piece of plastic envelope is what would appear to be a bring back label, which has a name of a French village applied to a section of card with a date, which appears to be 1918 with an original owner’s name applied to the rear skirt with the lettering ‘MGK 5’ (Machine Gun Company 5).
