GERMAN WWII AFRIKA KORPS WAIST BELT AND BUCKLE.

A good olive drab tropical waist belt measuring 95cm with its correct olive drab painted stamped steel buckle, which is maker stamped, the buckle still having its correct webbing tab, fitted with the letters ‘HZ’ applied to the tab presumably the initials of the owner. The tab is of the earlier heavy green version rather than the olive drab. Shown in Ausrustung volume 1 page 15. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects. £725 500
