GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE STEEL BUCKLE WITH WHITE WEBBING TAB.

A highly unusual Luftwaffe buckle and its tab, the buckle in stamped steel having all its original finish remaining with minor abrasions, maker stamped, fitted with a highly unusual white webbing tab. The theory is that a contract was given to a particular manufacturer for the tropical tab fitted buckles but the tab was never dyed to the olive drab variation of colours used by the armed forces in tropical conditions. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
