GERMAN WWII WAFFEN SS PANZER OFFICERS M.43 CAP.

The rare single button all black Waffen SS officers M.43 cap. Factory fitted silver cording to the crown area, which has oxidised its virtually complete circumference. The areas protected by the side curtains of the cap retaining much original nap to the cloth, the exterior areas are rather thin. The hat is fitted with a set of enlisted ranks insignia, the eagle and skull both hand applied, some light shredding to the head of the skull. The lining is of the recognised issue quality in black thin weave with faint traces of the stamp size ‘58’ evident. An ultra rare Waffen SS piece of headdress. Recently purchased from probably the best combat uniform and equipment collection in the United Kingdom comprising Army tropical, Waffen SS, Luftwaffe paratrooper and many other items of the same genre. The collection was begun by the then 15 year old boy who used to visit our own shop in London in the very early 1980’s and has built this collection up over 40 years culminating in the writing of excellent books on these subjects.
