GERMAN WWII ARMY PARATROOPER BADGE.

The later war production of the Army Paratrooper Badge in zinc with sheet metal hinge and flat wire catch. The identical example of this is shown on pages 484 and 485 of The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of WWII 1936-1945 by Thomas M. Durante. Although these badges are unmarked they are presumed by collectors world-wide to be made by the Company of Friedrich Linden, this example has the identical characteristics of the badge in the previously mentioned photographs. All of the gilt to the wreath has disappeared with just a very slight hue of gilt showing amongst the lower field of the oak leaves. Slight silvering showing to the diving eagle within the lower section of the upper wing and around the neck of the eagle. Complete with its sheet metal hinge, steel needle pin and flat wire catch.
