GERMAN WWI BADEN ENLISTED MANS PICKELHAUBE.

A good all leather pickelhaube, the skull excellent, minor crazing marks. Congealing to both front and back peaks, both are strongly stitched to the main body. All field grey finish to the back strap, removable spike and spike base, large Baden griffin front plate, front peak trim, which unusually is not kinked. Complete with its worn national and Baden cockades. To the interior the 9 tongued liner is in position, the tips of three tongues are missing. Good original colour although slightly toned to the interior skull. A very unusual feature of this helmet, it must have been part of a war bond drive, affixed to the rear skull of the helmet is an oval paper label with light script which cannot be identified. A wire also passing through the area of where the back strap turns over and fits underneath the rear peak indicating this has been hung from a wall at some stage of its life, possibly after its acquisition in the war bond drive. Typical of a helmet coming from the United States.
