GERMAN WWI AMMUNITION POUCHES.

A good mismatched set of WWI brown pebbled leather GEW98 pouches. The construction and stitch patterns of both sets of three compartment pouches all match, the pebbled leather matches identically, they have identical wear indicating they have been worn as a pair. Both pouches have brass D rings on the reverse side. One is dated ‘1914’ and maker marked, the other dated ‘1913’ and ‘Strasbourg’ maker marked. The leather is all supple, all of the closing tabs to the compartment lids are intact and strong and would make an ideal set for a mannequin display.
