IMPERIAL GERMAN GUARD DU CORPS 1 YEAR VOLUNTEER OR NCO’S HELMET.
A very fine example of the last model of the Guard Du Corps helmet prior to WWI, excellent tombak body, three minor indentations to the rear of the skull. The rear lobster tail is tightly fitted to the bowl. All of the white metal edged trim to the helmet intact. One minor kink to the front peak trim to the interior of the trim. Fitted with an unusually undamaged Guard du Corps eagle with its matching white metal enlisted ranks crown. The oval base is held to the main skull by its central screw thread. The helmet is fitted with its correct wide Cuirassier style domed chin scales with the correct large size State and national cockades. The front plate is of NCO or 1 year volunteer quality being a much deeper strike than normally encountered for enlisted mans with a faux enamel to the central Order of the Black Eagle. To the interior the 8 tongued liner all intact with the leather lining to the front and back peaks all in place. To the skull underneath the Guard du Corps eagle there are four holes that are pre constructed for the fitting of a spike base when the eagle is not needed for parade.
