BRITISH WWII 1ST PATTERN FAIRBAIRN SYKES KNIFE.

A good service used full length blade 1st pattern Fairbairn Sykes knife, the blade is 3 7/8th inches or 17.4cm. Some minor discoloration to the blade with a good clear Wilkinson Sword and FS Fighting Knife logos on each side of the blade. Some plating lifting from the S shaped cross guard also plating lifting from the very top of the grip. Fitted into its correct pattern scabbard with the nickel lower scabbard mount. The leather is good, to the upper part of the scabbard either the elasticated hilt retaining strap or the leather strap, whichever was fitted has been removed and a replacement leather strap fitted with an American style male/female closing stud. The faint date of ’30.11.42’ is hand inscribed into the rear of the upper tab of the scabbard.
