GERMAN WW I M.17 BATTLE DAMAGED CAMOUFLAGE HELMET.

A size BF64 shell with the exterior having its green, ochre and brown three colour camouflage with black separation lines, some chipping and loss as can be seen. A section of shrapnel has pierced the bowl, close to the shrapnel hole another indentation to the crown where presumably another section of shrapnel hit but did not pierce the bowl. To the interior the M.17 metal liner band remains and one small section of one of the liner pads.
